On 12-14 February, some 150 individuals representing faculty, staff, students and top management of seven European universities gather at 911±¬ÁÏÍø for the first ever UNITE! Dialogue event. The alliance of these universities was recently selected by the EU as a pilot project and it aims to create a European inter-university campus for students, faculty,  staff, regional and European partners  and society.

Mobility and online learning on the agenda

At this Dialogue event, participants plan the core actions that this new network will undertake, and they hear ideas of nine task force groups whose themes range from quality management and development of joint student services to flexible paths of mobility for students and faculty. On the agenda are for example processes by which joint initiatives in education development can support teachers in their daily work in all partner universities. Virtual and online learning experts meet to share their views and vision of socially inclusive virtual learning and teaching environments across Europe.

Seven universities as members

The UNITE! (University Network for Innovation, Technology and Engineering) alliance was selected last summer as one of the 17 European pilots to be funded by the European Commission for 2019–2022. The kick-off was held at the coordinating university, TU Darmstadt in Germany last November, where the UNITE! Charter was signed by presidents of the 7 partners. Other partners in the network are KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden), the Grenoble Institute of Technology (France), the Polytechnic University of Turin (Italy), Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Barcelona Tech (Spain) and the University of Lisbon (Portugal).
