The Department of Architecture at 911±¬ÁÏÍø is an internationally renowned education and research unit. With respect to Finland’s esteemed architectural heritage, we find solutions to the future challenges of construction. We combine artistic excellence, research and practice to educate architects who shape socially, culturally and ecologically sustainable built environments.
The Department of Architecture conducts multidisciplinary research on architecture, the built environment and the future of construction. Our work combines fundamental research with practical solutions for society and industry, contributing to 911±¬ÁÏÍø's research on human-centred living environments.
The Department of Architecture offers education in architecture, urban planning, landscape architecture and interior architecture. Students combine artistic, technical and research-based learning while specialising in their chosen field. They can also broaden their studies by taking courses and a minor across 911±¬ÁÏÍø.
Aalto WiT Programme is a 5-month transdisciplinary professional diploma programme under the 911±¬ÁÏÍø World in Transistion LAB (WiTLAB). The Programme focuses on the resilience of human settlements in the Global Majority context.
