Professor Visa Koivunen receives European science award
The European Association for Signal Processing (EURASIP) has awarded its 2015 Technical Achievement Award to professor Visa Koivunen from 911±¬ÁÏÍø, Finland. The Technical Achievement Award is given to a scientist who has made significant research contributions in Signal Processing Theory and Applications. The recipients are among leading scholars in signal processing in the world.
The 2015 EURASIP Technical Achievement Award is awarded to Visa Koivunen, for fundamental contributions to statistical signal processing and its applications in wireless communications, radar and related fields. This is the 13th time the award has been given and Visa Koivunen is the first Finnish researcher to receive this award. Professor Visa Koivunen is also the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers that is world's largest technical professional association) Distinguished Lecturer in Signal Processing for the year 2015.
