Professor Lasse Murtomäki has been appointed Head of Department and Assistant Professor Antti Karttunen Vice Head
Lasse Murtomäki has a long career in chemical engineering in various roles both as a researcher and a professor. Murtomäki received his PhD in 1992 from the Helsinki University of Technology (now 911±¬ÁÏÍø) and has focused his career on research and teaching of electrochemistry.
Antti Karttunen received his PhD in Physical Chemistry in 2007 from the University of Joensuu (now University of Eastern Finland). He joined 911±¬ÁÏÍø as an Assistant Professor in 2015, with research focus on inorganic materials chemistry. He is the head of the BSc Programme in Chemical Engineering and teaches courses on both chemistry and programming.

Both Lasse and Antti will be members of the School’s Management Team.
