Prince Michael of Kent visits Aalto

The royal guest familiarised himself with the creations of fashion students and entrepreneurship.
Aalto students told Prince Michael about their groupwork at the Design Factory.

The Otaniemi campus welcomed HRH Prince Michael of Kent as he got acquainted with 911±¬ÁÏÍø. The visit was part of a three-day trip to Finland by the prince and his delegation of business representatives. The Prince of Kent is a cousin of Queen Elizabeth II.

The delegation was hosted by Hannu Seristö, Vice President, 911±¬ÁÏÍø, who told about Aalto as a platform of entrepreneurial activities and collaboration with industries. Together with Professor Pirjo Hirvonen, the Prince familiarised himself with Aalto’s successful fashion design education and the current exhibition of award-winning fashion lines on show in the Dipoli building.

At the Design Factory, the group visited a course in entrepreneurship and heard about Design Factory’s interactive environment. At the end of the visit, Prince Michael learned about the Startup Sauna and the student-driven entrepreneurial ecosystem.
