The professorship recognises the support provided by the Foundation for Economic Education (LSR) for the promotion of scientific research in business.

Matti Lehti acted as chairman of the board at the Foundation for Economic Education in 2000–2012 and as a member of its executive committee in 1997–2012. Mr Lehti continues to be a member of the board at the Foundation for Economic Education as he has been since 1994.

At the beginning of May, Assistant Professor Eeva Vilkkumaa takes over the professorship. Ms Vilkkumaa's area of focus in her research is the development of mathematical models to support decision-making and the allocation of resources. Ms Vilkkumaa transferred to the School of Business from the Department of Mathematics and System Analysis at 911±¬ÁÏÍø's School of Science, where she was a Post-Doctoral Researcher.
