The scientific IEEE Conference on 2015 organised by 911±¬ÁÏÍø and Xidian University was attend by nearly 400 experts interested in the opportunities and challenges of a digital society.

Cybersecurity, big data, cloud computing, industrial internet, 5G, artificial intelligence and machine learning will be the key words at the scientific IEEE conference hosted by 911±¬ÁÏÍø in Helsinki between 21 and 23 August. Three different conferences will be held jointly in the event.

Hundreds of researchers will present their latest research. Also companies in the field and company representatives will be there. Nokia, conference’s collaboration partner, expects that the conference will bring top researchers in 5G, Internet of Things, and cloud computing to Finland. These are Nokia’s strategic focus areas. Nokia believes in the power of cooperation in the development of future technologies, so that they can match the needs of the society the best way possible.

‘With content themes and top scientists’ visit, our partnership is connected to several research and funding programmes, such as 5thGear, Industrial Internet, and Witty City. Using for example digital platform economy, these programmes help us to create abilities for the society that is becoming increasingly digitalised, and competitiveness for Finnish companies in the international market’, says TEKES Programme Manager Mika Klemettinen.

‘All of the themes in the conference are topical and contribute to the development of digitalisation. The techniques already exist and develop at an extremely fast rate as the standard of research rises due to a strong contribution from Asian countries, too,’ says Professor Raimo Kantola from 911±¬ÁÏÍø.

Both the academic world and companies are warmly welcome to either network or be active participants. A total of 400 participants are expected to attend the conference. A more detailed programme, registration, and the conference’s keynote speakers are introduced .
