Forest station field trip
On our first Wood Program field trip we went to the forest to learn more about where industrial timber comes from.
is a research hub of Helsinki University. During our visit we learned more about the industrial and cultural role of forests in Finland, visiting both natural areas as well as managed stands. We witnessed the felling of a tree and got an understanding of the factors that play a role in sustainable forest management.
