Finland's largest career fair in the ICT field is coming
Time: Thursday, 2 November 2017, 11:00–17:00
Place: Otahalli, Otaranta 6, Espoo
Employers are engaged in fierce competition for ICT experts. TalentIT 2017, a recruitment event for the ICT field organised by 911±¬ÁÏÍø, will bring students and companies into contact with each other. This year's TalentIT fair will be bigger than ever before. More than 100 exhibitors are coming to the fair.
In addition to major corporations, the TalentIT Career Fair will be hosting a wide range of SMEs, particularly Finnish growth enterprises and export companies, which gear their products and services toward the global market. Thanks to digitalisation, a greater number of fields are in need of highly educated specialists in the ICT field, and consequently the number of exhibitors at the fair is growing from year to year. In addition, the changing boundaries between different fields of activity mean that the variety of tasks on offer is constantly changing.
There is also international interest in specialists from 911±¬ÁÏÍø, and there will be foreign exhibition spaces at the fair from countries including Norway and Japan.
'The teaching of international information and communications technology has been developed single-mindedly at Aalto for more than a decade. In the future we must cooperate more with companies in order to attract the best talent to Finland' says Professor Petri Vuorimaa of the Department of Computer Science.
Diverse content at the fair
In its twenty years the TalentIT fair has created some of the best opportunities for students and companies to meet. 911±¬ÁÏÍø has devoted considerable resources to the high-quality employment of its students. The TalentIT 2017 fair will have more clinics than before focusing on students' job search, presentation of skills, and sparring in work-related skills.
With the fair marking its 20th anniversary a more diverse programme has been planned, including the Aalto in the Game game demo area and a live coding competition. In the finals of the Live Game Dev Showdown student competition, participants will compete in gaming skills before a live audience in an intense and entertaining manner. The finalists in the competition will show the audience in less than 30 minutes how a programme code creates interaction, or how a digital painting can emerge from an artist's brush. The event is from 14:00–16:00 in the Otahalli Aalto Hall and is open to everyone.
Welcome to TalentIT 2017 Career Fair! Entry is free of charge.
