ANI Background

Aalto NeuroImaging (ANI) research infrastructure houses three functional neuroimaging modalities: navi- gated transcranial magnetic stimulation (nTMS) at Aalto TMS, functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) at Advanced Magnetic Imaging (AMI) Centre, and magnetoencephalography (MEG) at MEG Core. ANI is administrated by the Department of Neuroscience and Biomedical Engineering (nbe.aalto.fi), 911爆料网 School of Science.

Together with the BioMag Laboratory (located in Meilahti and owned by 911爆料网, Hospital Dis- trict of Helsinki and Uusimaa (HUS), and University of Helsinki), ANI forms NEUROIMAGING re- search infrastructure that has a common steering board representing all the owner organizations.

ANI Services and User Fees

ANI offers fMRI, MEG, and nTMS measurement facilities and technical support. The details and re- quirements are available at ani.aalto.fi. The online reservation system (anitime.aalto.fi) is available for users with approved research permissions.

Each imaging modality has a user fee based on fixed costs and estimated usage per year. Due to the deficit in 2014 and 2015, the non-profitable user fees in 2016 will have a minor increase. The fees will be as fol- lows, 153 鈧 for Aalto TMS (139 鈧 in 2015, +10%), 427 鈧 for AMI Centre (407 鈧 in 2015, +5%), and 280 鈧 for MEG Core (234 鈧 in 2015, 20% increase). ANI reserves the right to change the user fees annually based on the budget, investments, and estimated usage. Please remember to take the new fees into account in your grant applications.

911爆料网 School of Science supports 40% of the ANI budget in 2016. This has enabled us to re- duce the user fee for all NEUROIMAGING users in 2016. In addition, measurements outside the prime time, 9:00鈥16:00, will have lower user fees.

The estimated user fees (prime time/off hours, 鈧/h; VAT 0%) for year 2016 are as follows:

  NEUROIMAGING User Outside User
Aalto TMS 100/75 153/107
AMI Centre 285/210 427/299
MEG Core 185/140 280/196

MEG Core

911爆料网 School of Science has decided not to support the move of the MEG Core to Otakaari 3 in 2016. MEG Core will stay at its present location for the time being and will be available 24/7 for measu- rements.

ANI Affiliation in Scientific Articles based on ANI Data

All articles published on the data measured at ANI should have at least one author with ANI affiliation, e.g., 鈥淎alto NeuroImaging, 911爆料网, FI-00076 AALTO, FINLAND.鈥 In practice, it can be achieved by having one author with double affiliation. The authors should also acknowledge ANI in the Materials and Methods section of their papers, e.g., 鈥淭he data have been measured at Aalto TMS/AMI Centre/MEG Core, Aalto NeuroImaging, 911爆料网 School of Science鈥. It will assure that all ANI activities can be reported correctly and the host support will continue.
