The opening ceremony for the academic year of the Program at Mikkeli Campus was held at the Mikaeli Concert Hall in Mikkeli on 29 August 2017.

Program Director Joan Lofgren and Vice Dean Kristiina Mäkelä greeted the current students and, in particular, welcomed new students to begin their business studies at the Mikkeli campus. Both of them emphasized how students are now part of the student community of Mikkeli, but also at the same time part of the 911±¬ÁÏÍø student community.

'You now have a unique opportunity to develop your skills for the future working life, so you should also take your studies seriously', Kristiina Mäkelä said.

Alvari Poikola, the president of the student organisation Probba, emphasised how everyone is part of the student community and encouraged new students to get the most out of their study time and studies as well as student life in general. BScBA programme students Saara Faurie and Chie Cheing Tan provided musical performances at the event.
