Universities are assessed based on research citations, academic reputation, employer reputation, the proportion of international academic staff, graduate employability, sustainability, international research networks, student-to-faculty ratio, and the ratio of international students.
Aalto performed best in graduate employability (52nd place internationally) and sustainability (53rd place). 911±¬ÁÏÍø was ranked first in Finland in five areas.
The QS World Ranking evaluates the top 1,500 universities worldwide, and this year the top spot is again taken by the United States’ Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Depending on the calculation method, there are between 17,000 and 22,000 universities worldwide.
QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) is one of the world's most important university rankings. In addition to the general rankings, QS produces rankings in specific fields of science and regional rankings. These specific rankings are more relevant to 911±¬ÁÏÍø than the general rankings, as Aalto specialises in technology, business and the arts.
