Aalto ARTS Books participates in the Helsinki and Frankfurt Book Fairs
The online events make it possible to attend the biggest events in the book industry this autumn safely and from anywhere. Aalto ARTS Books will present their latest books at both fairs.
The Helsinki Book Fair goes digital event 22–25 October has, as usual, a four-day program including discussions and interviews with authors. Publishers and other participants will have their own virtual exhibition stand to showcase new works and the best deals.
Aalto ARTS Books, together with the Bioart Society, is organizing a discussion Unprecedented Art - Bioart Challenges the Limits of Science on Friday 23 October from 4:00 to 4:30 p.m. The authors Helena Sederholm, Laura Beloff and Teemu Lehmusruusu will discuss their book Art as We Don't Know It. The program is part of the Science Center's science-focused entity, and fits well into the theme of the book fair, which is the future this year.
In addition to the program, Aalto Arts Books' recent books are on display in the virtual booth, and there are a lot of fair offers in the online store.
The Helsinki Book Fair goes digital event has more than 200 programs and more than 400 performers on three different stages. Program on two of the stages will be broadcasted live from the Messukeskus exhibition center, and program on one stage will be recorded in advance.
Redeemers of the full-time ticket will be able to enjoy all the programs for another two weeks after the fair, as the programs will remain on view until 8 November. Virtual booths and book fair offers are also available without a ticket.
The Frankfurt Book Fair offers collidings both digitally and on site
The world's largest book fair, the Frankfurt Book Fair, will also be held this year as an online event 14–18 October. Last year, the fair attracted more than 300,000 visitors and 7,450 exhibitors from more than one hundred countries. This year, there will be digital get-togethers, but also live meetings in the city of Frankfurt, as well as a program filmed on the Festhalle stage.
Aalto ARTS Books participates in the fair digitally as an exhibitor. The latest works for the international audience will be on display.
‘For ten years, the Frankfurt Book Fair has been our main international forum and we have had a physical stand there. Now we will see how it works digitally‘, says Sanna Tyyri-Pohjonen, publishing editor responsible for international marketing.
The theme country at the Frankfurt Book Fair this year was supposed to be Canada, but due to the pandemic, the country will be a guest of honor this year and might have a new opportunity in 2021.
