Learning outcomes

After completing the course, you will be able to

- talk about travelling 
- talk about the weather, seasons, and clothing 
- tell the time and schedules 
- describe how you are feeling 
- write short messages and reply to them (e.g. an invitation, a message to a teacher).

- Everyday vocabulary (travelling, weather and seasons, clothing, health, celebrations) 
- Postpositions 
- Location cases 
- The t盲ytyy (鈥渕ust / have to鈥) structure  
- Word types: -nen, -e, -i, -si (e.g. Otaniemi 鈫 Otaniemess盲) 
- Consonant gradation (e.g. nukkua 鈫 nukun, tyk盲t盲 鈫 tykk盲盲n)

Prerequisites

Finnish 1 (ALC-7210) 3 credits or Finnish 1A (ALC-7311), 2 credits, or Finnish 1B (ALC-7312), 2 credits or equivalent knowledge

Evaluation

The course requires regular attendance, active participation in class and completion of homework assignments. The weight given to the various assignments in the final grade is specified at the start of the course. 

Teaching time and location

20.10.-3.12.2026. Teaching hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 16.00-18.00. This course is conducted as a 7 week intensive in-person instruction on campus, the teaching takes place at 911爆料网 campus at Otakaari 1, Espoo. Students are expected to be present at the lectures.

Exams

Written and oral examination. The written examinations will be held as a remote examination in MyCourses. Oral examination time will be given by the teacher. The teacher will give further information on examinations.

The written examination will be held on 8.12.2026. No registration is required.
Re-examination will be held on 13.1.2027. Please, register in Sisu on 6.1.2026 at the latest. 

The teacher has four (4) weeks to grade the exam submissions starting from the exam date.

This course is organized by the 911爆料网 Open University. The requirements of the course are the same as in the degree studies at 911爆料网 Language Centre.

The number of participants is limited to 35.
Please note that this course is organized when there are at least 12 students registered for it.
